Duane Rasmussen and Fred Meckel, both candidates for the Kootenai County commissioner seat now held by Dan Green, talk during a break in the action at the Mica Grange forum recently. In 2010, Rasmussen and Meckel ran unsuccessfully in a four-way race for the legislative seat now held by state Rep. Vito Barbieri, R-Dalton Gardens. Now, they are vying again in a four-way race that includes Bob Bingham and Leslie Duncan. Will they again split the mainstream Republican vote? Inquiring minds want to know.
