Christie’s views on NIC zone vote

Christie Wood (RE: NIC trustees gerrymander zones): I was pretty hard on Todd last night and asked him to accept the incumbent free map and graciously step away. I told him he should not run against Ron since he has only been in the proposed district since last fall. Ron has been there for at least a decade. In fairness to Todd he told me after the meeting that he would have never ran against Ron. He would have bowed out. It is easy to assume my argument was personality driven because Todd and I are often on opposite sides of an issue but the facts are I opposed this legislation from the beginning and spoke out against it. Now that we have this new law to follow it seems we should abide by the intent of the legislation. Ken did not want to cast the deciding vote that he did. But time really is of the essence so he chose to go along with the 2nd map the puts all existing trustees in a district.
