CPD: Text chatter no threat to CSD

Some parents in the Coeur d'Alene School District are upset after hearing rumors of a possible school shooting on social media, expressing frustration the district didn't let them know that rumors were false. The district, however, said they take every threat or rumor of a threat very seriously. Over the weekend a student received a text message from another student saying in part, "Don't come to school on April 20th either, my sisters crazy boyfriend plans to shoot up schools." April 20 is the 17th anniversary of the Columbine High School massacre/KXLY. More here.

Question: Do you think the Coeur d'Alene School District handled this situation correctly?
