More than 1,000 people in Kootenai County have been trained to survive a mass shooting and interest remains so intense that the sheriff’s office is offering more local classes. Someone has been putting a bicycle in a London Planetree at City Park as a prank. But no one at the city of Coeur d'Alene is laughing. The prank creates a safety hazard and endangers the tree, according to Deputy City Administrator Sam Taylor. The city will keep removing the bike as long as the prankster persists. (With 3 photos)
A contractor is removing three "risk trees" from Tubbs Hill today. The city Parks and Recreation Department and Fire Department manage risk trees on Tubbs Hill yearly. Risk trees are those that are dead, dying or have structural defects -- and are close to hiking trails.

The Kootenai County Sheriff's Office has released the names of the 5 individuals on the other boat involved in a triple fatality crash on Lake Coeur d'Alene. 4 or from Washington and one is from Hayden.
