Cheney High yearbook rejects hot tub shot 13 

At Cheney High, a senior photo involving pink eyeglass frames, a hot tub and a v-neck shirt proved too much for the yearbook and school principal. The photo submitted by Michael Ferguson, the captain of the wrestling team, was rejected by the yearbook. Ferguson is fighting that decision.

Moody’s Analytics is predicting that whomever lands the Democratic nomination will capture the White House with 326 electoral votes to the Republican nominee's 212.

CPD police dog Maxx retires 

After eight years of outstanding service, K9 Maxx is retiring from patrol with AnchorOfficer Andy Sterling. Maxx is now a 10-year-old German shepherd and has worked as a single purpose narcotics K9 for his entire career. Maxx’s retirement is due to his age and recommendations from his Veterinarian.

Tedder Industries buys Outlet Mall 

Tedder Industries, a North Idaho gun holster manufacturer, has purchased the outlet mall in Post Falls. The 6-year-old company will consolidate its operations in about half of the space. CEO Thomas Tedder said he'll be looking for tenants to lease the rest of the space. Becky Kramer/SR provides more below.

CdA protests 'lenient' hatchery permit 

The city of Coeur d'Alene has joined other dischargers and environmental groups in protesting a discharge permit for a fish hatchery operated by the Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife. The Department of Ecology renewed the hatchery permit without requiring the agency to do quarterly samples of wastewater effluent in the Spokane River.

Scott airs 2nd permitless carry bill 17 

Reps. Heather Scott and Ron Nate have released a second draft bill on “constitutional carry,” or allowing Idahoans to carry concealed guns without a permit. The new version doesn’t replace the previous version, they said; it’s just an alternative approach. “We’re going to put ‘em both out there and see which dog hunts,” Nate said.

Fillios to challenge Commish Stewart 

Republican Chris Fillios announced he will seek the District 2 Kootenai County Commission seat in the May 17 primary election. The district includes the southern part of the county, areas around Lake Coeur d'Alene and most of Coeur d'Alene. The seat is now held by David Stewart, who will seek re-election.
