Waste Management picking up bins

Deputy City Administrator Sam Taylor responds to info below: "We don't believe this will be accomplished within the next seven days. We checked in with Waste Management again this morning after we read this and they have confirmed that it will definitely be at least the month of July before they are finished. ... We're asking everyone to put all cans by the curb each week during regular pickup so that, eventually, Waste Mangement's team can snag them."

As of Friday, Waste Management no longer serves as the garbage hauler for Coeur d'Alene as the service transitioned to Coeur d'Alene Garbage.

Waste Management asks that all old containers be left out where they are visible and they will be removed sometime in the next seven days. The process to remove the old containers has started, but will take some time as there are about 14,000 customers throughout the Coeur d'Alene area.

Waste Management can be contacted at 765-4968.

Any residential customers who have not yet received a new garbage container from Coeur d'Alene Garbage should call the city at 769-2227. Commercial customers should call Coeur d'Alene Garbage at 457-1820/Coeur d'Alene Press.
