From GoFundMe page for Chris Guggemos:

Chris Guggemos has been a staple in the Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, community for 25 years. He has provided free, outdoor and family friendly concerts to Coeur d’Alene, Hayden, Rathdrum and many other locations. His contributions have added so much to the local scene. Today, he needs our help.

On April 24, 2016, he was diagnosed with Advanced 3rd Stage Rectal Cancer. He has completed the prescribed 6 weeks of radiation and chemo therapy as of July 6, 2016. Sometime in September, 2016, he will be going in for major surgery. This surgery will put keep him in the hospital recovering for 2-3 weeks. After that, he will undergo a 2-3 month rehab and recovery period where he will be home bound and unable to work. After this 2-3 month rehab, he will not be able to work full time. The doctors have told him that it will take up to 24 months before he returns to the “normal” life that he had before the cancer diagnosis. These 24 months would extend to May 2018.

He has engaged his fellow musician and brother, Rick, to make sure that the concert series continue to occur for the next 25 years. More here.
