State Line -- At about 10:15 a.m. today, Kootenai County sheriff's deputies responded to the report of a wanted person at the State Line Liquor Store. The man was identified as Arthur J. Harp, who had confirmed felony warrants out of Idaho and Washington. The deputies found Harp in a vehicle in the parking lot. Harp was ordered to exit the vehicle, but he fled the area in the vehicle. During Harp’s attempt to flee, a female passenger was injured when she fell from the moving vehicle. The deputies stopped pursuing Harp and rendered aid to the female.

Witnesses reported that Harp continued to drive recklessly eastbound on Seltice Way. The vehicle Harp was driving was located abandoned about three miles away at the west end of Riverbend Avenue. A Kootenai County K9 unit responded and a track for Harp was conducted. Harp was not located at that time and is still at large.

The female passenger is in stable condition at this time.

If you have information on Harp’s location, please contact the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office. Charges for felony eluding and grand theft were forwarded to the Kootenai County Prosecutor.
