A masked man robbed a Spokane Valley Umpqua Bank at gunpoint Tuesday morning, escaping with cash inside a blue athletic bag.

The man entered the bank at 11205 E. Sprague Ave. around 9:45 a.m. and demanded cash. The heavy set man was wearing a one-piece Carhart jumpsuit, a white mask and an orange bandanna over his head. Surveillance video from the bank makes his clothing look orange as well, but it is the traditional Carhart color, said Spokane Valley Deputy Craig Chamberlin.

The man was carrying a semi-automatic gun with an extended magazine. Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Crime Check at (509) 456-2233/Nina Culver, SR.
