KCSO: Beware of new scam

There is a new scam targeting Idaho phone numbers. The scam is claiming to raise money for injured and disabled police officers. With all of the officers killed and injured recently, it didn't take these scammers long to pop up. They are calling from phone number 208 - 488 - 6565. The prefix 488 is not an Idaho prefix and they're using a spoofed number. If you try to call them back using a block number, you will get a message that their phone number is not in service/Kootenai County Sheriff's Office.
