Idaho gun group protests actor’s visit

MERIDIAN — Idaho gun rights activists protested the appearance of Hollywood actor Matt Damon here Wednesday, shortly before a premiere of "Jason Bourne," Damon’s latest motion picture.

Damon got the red carpet treatment outside Meridian’s Village Cinema early Wednesday evening before a multitude of adoring fans, many holding up cell-phone cameras.

But protesters at an earlier off-site, street corner event organized by the Idaho Second Amendment Alliance gave Damon a thumbs-down for gun rights views the actor recently expressed in Australia, said ISAA President Greg Pruett/Dave Goins, Idaho News Service. More here.
