I Did Not Know That …

In the "I Did Not Know That" Dept, I learned recently that the city of Coeur d'Alene will keep the new Fort Grounds Drive (formerly Mullan Ave) shut to through traffic until after Labor Day. That's the new stretch with all the Four Corners work that bisects City Park and Memorial Field, west of Northwest Boulevard. Motorists will be able to enter the new parking lot behind Memorial Field and to use one of the 15 or so free spots at the northwest corner of City Park. But they won't be able to drive through from NW Blvd to the Fort Grounds area until after Labor Day. In the future, Fort Grounds Boulevard will be closed from Memorial Day to Labor Day each year. This, from Deputy City Administrator Sam Taylor.
