A new area code is coming soon to a Gem State near you. 986 will join 208 as an Idaho area code. The move is being made because Idaho is running out of numbers that can be given under the 208 area code. A meeting has been scheduled in CdA Thursday, Aug. 11, to explain the change. Tony Parks, the former marina manager for the Coeur d'Alene Resort, was sentenced to two years in prison fixed with a possibility of serving eight more.
