At about 10:35 a.m. today, Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the report of an unwanted person at a residence on Chase Road. It was also reported the male, Walter L. Miles, 55, of Coeur d’ Alene, had threatened the life of the reporting party. Miles was also known to have a felony warrant for Parole Violation on an Aggravated Assault with a Weapon charge from the Idaho State Penitentiary. When deputies arrived, Miles fled the area. A K-9 unit responded to the scene and tracked Miles. The K-9 located Miles about 3/10ths of a mile southwest of the residence, hiding under a large rock outcropping. Miles was then taken into custody for the warrant without further incident. He was also charged with resisting/obstructing and may face additional charges for battery and assault pending further investigation of the incident. Miles has been arrested in Kootenai County twelve times since 2000.
