CdA worker earns 20% below nat’l avg

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics just released employee and wage data for occupations in the Coeur d'Alene metropolitan area. Here are some of the findings of note:

  • The average worker in the Coeur d’Alene area earned $18.42/hr in May 2015, about 21% below the U.S. average of $23.23/hr
  • Management occupations in the area were highest paid at $38.32/hr, followed by legal occupations at $34.26/hr
  • Construction and extraction occupations accounted for 5.0% of local employment, compared to 4.0% nationally
