So Mrs O got up to let Huckleberry outside earlier than usual. I couldn't go back to sleep. So I went down stairs to begin the day. Huckleberry seemed satisfied.

I was surprised to find that the Coeur d'Alene Resort Boardwalk was open for pedestrians, when I ventured out for my daily noon walk today. I was planning a new route as I approached the clock tower. But I noticed the boardwalk open. Usually, it closes in November through the end of January to protect all the light displays along the boardwalk.
Jim Delligatti, an erstwhile McDonald's Corp. franchisee in the Pittsburgh area who created the Big Mac, has died at age 98. A report of an armed man, possibly a hunter, set off a series of school security alerts Wednesday morning in Rathdrum. The Lakeland School District sent parents and staff a message just before 9 a.m. saying an armed man had been spotted on the railroad tracks at Washington and Main streets, which is near John Brown Elementary School.
In a news release this AM, the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office describes the arrest of Charles Ray Bartkowiak, 34, of Hayden, who is the suspect in the Monday PM robbery of BankCDA/Hayden. Bartkowiak has an extensive criminal history in Kootenai County, dating back to 1999.
