Clinton leads in Idaho's 2nd District 

Donald Trump is leading Hillary Clinton 52 percent to 23 percent with independent Evan McMullin running a distant third at 10 percent, a poll done last weekend by Emerson College showed. But Democrat Hillary Clinton is leading Trump in Idaho's 2nd District, according to the Idaho Statesman.

Dozens charged in fake IRS scam 

Finally, someone is doing something about those crooks who call you at dinner time to say that you owe money to the IRS. Actually, the scam is quite lucrative. The U.S. Department of Justice has charges 62 people with conspiracy and fraud involving phone calls claiming to be from IRS & other govt entities that defrauded 15,000 of > $300M.

Voting deadlines approaching 

Two voting deadlines are coming up, according to Kootenai County Clerk Jim Brannon. Voters who want an absentee ballot mailed to them need to submit their request by 5 p.m. Friday, and voters who want to cast their ballots early in person have until Friday, Nov. 4 to do that.

Kirk's death investigated as murder

Law enforcement officials didn't release the cause of death for William "Bo" Kirk, 41, of Coeur d'Alene, whose body was found by the side of a road in the Hayden Creek area. But they said at a news conference Wednesday that the death is being investigated as a murder. Brian Walker, Press, reports.

Otter urges 'no' vote on HJR 5 

Idaho Gov. Butch Otter is urging a “no” vote on HJR 5, the constitutional amendment on the November ballot, and he’s added a new twist to the debate: Otter says a clause in the amendment that says “in whole or in part” actually would vastly expand the Legislature’s current power to review administrative rules. Police ID body as missing CdA man 

Officials confirmed Wednesday that the body found near Hayden Creek on Tuesday is Coeur d’Alene father and x-ray technician William “Bo” Kirk. Few new details were released Wednesday as the Post Falls Police Department, Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office and FBI Violent Crimes Task force investigate Kirk’s death as a homicide.
