Spence: Congress quits trying

Lewiston Tribune reporter Bill Spence’s column this week, headlined “Congress takes lead in not trying any more,” manages to tie together Sen. Mike Crapo’s current contest for Idaho schoolkids to win a chance to fly to Washington, D.C. and help light the Capitol Tree, WSU Cougars football and coach Mike Leach’s latest rant, and the failures of today’s Congress, which he writes has “hobbled itself with self-imposed rules that allow a minority of members to forestall votes and prevent legislation from moving to the floor.” It’s a hoot; you can read it here.
