Gary Schneidmiller, the founder and owner of Coldwell Banker Schneidmiller Realty of Coeur d’Alene, has given $1 million to Hospice of North Idaho in memory of his parents, Mannie and Gladys Schneidmiller.
The nonprofit hospice care serves patients and families in Kootenai, Shoshone and Benewah counties. This is the largest donation in its 35-year history.
The money will be used to expand grief and loss programs like Camp Kaniksu and after-school support groups for children, enhance community education on end-of-life issues and provide more staff training.
“The people of hospice are truly special and are deserving of our heartfelt thanks for the work they do,” Schneidmiller said in a statement released Wednesday.
Schneidmiller’s parents were active community leaders in North Idaho and diehard fans of the Washington State University Cougars. They also established scholarship programs to help high school graduates/Scott Maben, SR. More here.
