Jeremy Morris, the city of Hayden's version of Clark Griswold (see "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation"), is trying to raise money for a bigger Hayden Light Show this Christmas season. Morris, who successfully fought his neighborhood to have the show last year, needs $3,100 by Nov. 15 to produce a bigger show this year.

Update: 'Hit list' leads to 2 arrests
Two junior high school students in Rathdrum were arrested Wednesday for threatening violence on school property. The students, ages 13 and 14, each were found with a “hit list” of names, the Rathdrum Police Department said. The School District apologized for not notifying parents sooner re: the threat. Scott Maben SR reports.

Idaho’s all-GOP congressional delegation split down the middle yesterday as the House and Senate overwhelmingly passed a continuing resolution to fund the government – avoiding a government shutdown by just two days. Sen. Mike Crapo and Rep. Mike Simpson voted in favor of the measure; Rep. Raul Labrador and Sen. Jim Risch voted against.
