Carousel work coming right along

If you've driven down Northwest Boulevard, you've noticed that work is moving forward rapidly on the Coeur d'Alene Carousel, now that the base and support beams are in place. Cari Fraser of the Coeur d'Alene Carousel Foundation tells Huckleberries that the structure should be in place for an open house by mid- to late November. The Carousel will need to install the heating to keep the place heated to at least 48 degrees to protect the back-to-the-future horses protected. Cari figures that her foundation still needs to raise $110,000 to complete the project. It is scheduled to open next spring. She anticipates several fund-raisers, including some sort of auction or raffle to see who will be the first person to ride the new carousel.
