Cathyanne: KCRCC wants obedience

Cathyanne Nonini, wife of state Sen. Bob Nonini, R-Coeur d'Alene, (Re: Bradway takes issue with Hazel):I

"I am sorry .... I have been watching all of this and need to say something.

It has nothing to do with being conservative, but rather obedience. My husband has an excellent conservative voting record and is one of the most effective legislators in the Statehouse, but is currently not in good graces with most members of the KCRCC because he supported Shawn Keough. One of the PCs in District 3 told voters IN WRITING not to vote for Bob, and another officer in District 3 posted on Facebook to write in a name to teach Senator Nonini a lesson. What they fail to admit is that so did their 'dream boys' Labrador and Fulcher, with big donations to Shawn. And Regan recently posted how much he admires Mary Souza and wishes there were more legislators like her. I really like Mary, but she is anything but conservative in her voting record.

"When I supported Peter Riggs against Don Cheatham, and Paul Amador against Kathy Sims, I was chastised by the KCRCC and lost friends over it for not supporting the incumbents. We were belittled in social media. But many in the KCRCC supported others against incumbants Malek and Keough. It was because I was not obedient. I have since realized that Representative Cheatham is a terrific legislator and apologized and made peace with he and his wife. I am grateful for their graciousness. I was told by a District officer that my actions were very disruptive to the District. Because I wasn't obedient (and I am only the wife!).

"Politics in Kootenai County specifically the KCRCC are weird and former Chairman of the State Party Yates admitted it.

"My husband will hear about my post and he won't be happy but it's about time to call a spade a spade and I applaud Christa for starting the dialogue. I dread going to KCRCC events because of the cold shoulder I receive. In the 4th of July parade I was criticized strongly by a PC in District 3 for wearing blue ... because it was the 'DEM'S color ... I was wearing red, white and Robin Egg's blue. For crying out loud. I wrote to Don Bradway months ago to ask why Bob has lost favor with the local Party and yet to have a return comment.

"The KCRCC is about obedience and like those who do their bidding."
