All roads lead to Sandpoint

Marianne Love/Slight Detour has a theory that all roads lead to Sandpoint. Marianne, the long-time journalism instructor at Sandpoint High, chronicles the many former and present Sandpoint residents who have made an impact around the world. A recent blog post by Marianne caught the attention of Huckleberries. Marianne told of seeing Jeralyn Mire, behind Michelle Obama at the First Lady's farewell speech Friday. Jeralyn, a Sandpoint High counselor who was selected as Idaho's counselor of the year, was part of a ceremony honoring high school counselors. Sure enough, Huckleberries found a photo (several of them, in fact) that show Jeralyn (the woman directly to the left and behind Mrs. Obama) among AP file photos. You can read Marianne's blog post about Jeralyn and her appearance in Washington, D.C., here. (Also, by clicking on the photo above, you can see 3 more photos of the ceremonies, with Jeralyn Mire in them.)
