The Tri-Track Super Late Model Series, which makes stops at Stateline Speedway and Spokane County Raceway's Super Oval in 2015, takes its show to the region's biggest track this weekend, the .675-mile oval at Evergreen Speedway, for the running of the Mark Galloway 150.
Antron Brown (Top Fuel), Erica Enders (Pro Stock and Chad Head (Funny Car) lead all qualifiers after one round of NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing competition at the NHRA Kansas Nationals being held at Heartland Park Topeka.
Currently third in points, Spencer Massey is eager for the first back-to-back race stretch of 2015 at this weekend’s 27th annual NHRA Kansas Nationals.
Brandon McReynolds, driving the No. 16 NAPA Auto Parts Toyota for Bill McAnally Racing, became the second West driver in 12 races to win the combination race at Iowa. He led twice for 22 laps, including the final eight. Otis Orchards, Wash. native, Nicole Behar, finished 21st in her first career start at Iowa Speedway.
The real Saturday night heroes were the crew members on Denny Hamlin’s No. 11 Toyota, who gained five spots for their driver during mandatory four-tire pits stops before the race’s final 10-lap segment.
Courtney Force picked up her biggest victory in the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series at Topeka last season when she won the 100th race by a female driver. The thrilling moment was one of many highlights during Force’s strong 2014 season and one that will certainly be on her mind when she returns to Heartland Park Topeka.
NASCAR made the decision after the driver of the No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota received the appropriate medical clearance documentation to immediately return to NASCAR racing. To qualify for the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup, Busch will need to be within the top 30 of the Championship point standings after race No. 26.
