POACHING -- After receiving multiple tips throughout the week, Washington Fish and Wildlife Police, with the help of Idaho Fish and Game Officers, identified two suspects in the poaching of two bull elk in the Anatone area on Nov. 2.

WDFW Officers Sabo and King, along with Asotin County Sheriff’s deputies, obtained a search warrant for a cabin near Anatone and recovered the two trophy elk heads, elk meat and a third carcass belonging to an elk calf.

Unfortunately, the majority of the elk meat was not salvageable, they said.

More than 15 deer, elk, and moose heads, many of them trophy class, were seized for additional follow-up investigation.

Multiple charges are being filed with the Asotin County Prosecutors office.
