Mount Spokane ski area to open Friday
WINTERSPORTS -- Mt. Spokane Ski and Snowboard Park has announced it will open Friday, Dec. 11, to start the 2015-2016 season.
The mountain will operate from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with midweek pricing.
"The mountain has received enough snow to open Chairs 2, 3, & 5 on Friday, and we expect incoming storms to allow opening of Chairs 1 & 4 later in the weekend," the resort says on its website.
"Early season conditions do exist, please use caution.
"The Snow Sports Center opens at 8 a.m. for season pass pickup."
Lookout Pass and 49 Degrees North also will reopen on Friday, while Silver Mountain is still waiting for a few more inches of snow to make up for the loses in the recent rain.

The cross-country ski trails at Mount Spokane are snow covered, but grooming has not started. State Park Ranger Jerry Johnson said Wednesday that a snowmobile groomer would be used to pack and track a portion of the nordic trails if a few more inches falls on the area.
