Forest Service taking applications for seasonal jobs

OUTDOOR JOBS -- The U.S. Forest Service is gearing up for temporary hiring.

From Monday, Nov. 30, through Dec. 7, the agency will be accepting applications for more than 1,000 temporary spring and summer jobs in Oregon and Washington. Positions are available in multiple fields, including fire, recreation, natural resources, timber, engineering, visitor services, and archaeology.

Applications must be submitted on www.USAJOBS.gov.

Tip:  Create a profile on USAJOBS in advance to save time once the hiring process begins.

Forest Service officials say they will be contacting potential candidates about jobs between Feb. 15 and March 4.

The Pacific Northwest Region consists of 16 National Forests, 59 District Offices, a National Scenic Area, and a National Grassland comprising 24.7 million acres in Oregon and Washington and employing approximately 3,550 people.
