ENDURANCE -- Trail Maniacs are organizing the second Jackass Hill Climb for trail runners, and this year, for mountain bikers, too, on Aug. 20 at Silver Mountain.

Bust your butt to the top of the mountain and then enjoy the annual brews and music festival.

"Maybe running is not your thing?," says Dave Dutro, co-organizer. "Are you a good (bike) climber? Lets put that to the test, I challenge you! Mountain Bikers will leave at 7 am. Runners leave at 7:10 a.m. Don't worry the bikes will need the head start!"

Challenge indeed.

The course leads 7 miles up Silver Mountain Bike Park single track gaining 3,300 feet of elevation.

Details:

  •  6:00 am packet pick up starts at the base of the Gondola. Please park in the parking lot at the base of the mountain. There will be a short flat 1.5 mile section on the Trail Of The Coeur d'Alene's through town and the rest of the race will be on single track up to the lodge at the top of the Gondola.
  • 6:45 am pre-race meeting
  • 7:00 Bikes Start at the gondola in Kellogg, Idaho
  • 7:10 Runners Start at the gondola in Kellogg, Idaho
  • 9:00 am cut off at 5 Corners. The Silver MT trail system opens to downhill mountain bikers at 9:30 am, if you do not reach 5 Corners by 9:00 am, then Silver Mt will have to pull you from the race and you will be returned to the base via van or truck.
  • 11:00 am Course is closed.
