FIREARMS -- Guns and shooting are like bread and butter to Idaho's economy, according to a survey.

Idaho, Montana ranked in Top 5 for being gun-industry dependent
A study done by the financial website, WalletHub.com examined states on a number of gun-related factors, including firearms industry activity in the state, gun ownership and overall prevalence, and contributions by gun control and gun rights groups to elected officials.

Idaho ranked first in the nation. Alaska was second, with Montana, South Dakota and Arkansas completing the top five. At the bottom of the spectrum were Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island and Delaware.

The study found Idaho's gun-relate industry provided jobs for an estimated 3,000 workers at nearly 200 companies that generated $500 million.
