Some roads washed out on Idaho Panhandle Forests
PUBLIC LANDS -- As reported earlier this month, people traveling into national forests should be prepared for the possibility of road blockages and washouts, especially in areas affected by 2015 wildfires.
Idaho Panhandle National Forest officials in the Bonners Ferry and Sandpoint districts multiple roads and bridges that were damaged during the December 2015 flooding event.
Boulder Creek Road 314 on the Bonners Ferry District remains closed because of washouts.
Lightning Creek Road 419 on the Sandpoint Ranger District also is blocked.
The forest has identified 19 sites, so far, impacted by the flooding, including segments of the Grouse Creek and Pack River Roads.
Emergency funding has been requested for repairs. Work schedules have not been set.
