Castaways hooking up with steelhead in SE Washington

FISHING -- Die-hard steelheaders on the Snake and Grande Ronde rivers say the fishing isn't necessarily easy this season, and it's hard to predict the good days and the days that will be skinny on bites.

But two things are certain:

  • They ARE catching steelhead.
  • They would be catching NO steelhead if they stayed home.

Anglers pictured above, photographed by Wayne Jordan of North 40 Outfitters, noted that when the fishing is tough, the catches are even more satisfying.

And while you're at it down in the southeast corner of Washington, consider doing your angler's duty by catching and keeping a steelhead out of the Tucannon River!

All in all, November has been great for area fly casters.
