Snowshoe hare hopping with joy about snowy forecast
WILDLIFE WATCHING -- Snowshoe hares have camouflage that adapts to the seasons, from brownish gray half of the year to white for the winter months.
This works out great -- except for those awkward periods when the season changes don't cooperate.
This hare photographed by Holly Weiler at the McKenzie Conservation area appears to be praying for snow.
The second photo, which I snapped while skiing at Mount Spokane last season, shows a hare in its winter element.
