SKY WATCHING -- It may not be in the path of totality, but Schweitzer Mountain Resort above is making a good offer for viewing the total eclipse up on the ridge above Sandpoint, Idaho, on Aug. 21.

"The resort will open the Great Escape Quad early at 8:30 a.m.so folks can get up to the summit to view the eclipse, which is expected to peak at 10:28:47 a.m. PDT," says Dig Chrismer, Marketing Manager.

"The first 150 people on site will get free eclipse viewing safety glasses.

"For those looking to explore the great outdoors and spend the day at Schweitzer, they can enjoy also scenic lake hikes, lift-served mountain biking, zip lining and other outdoor activities at the resort."

Looking to squeeze a little more out of the event with your sweetie?

"Why not stay the night?" Chrismer proposes. "Schweitzer is offering a special eclipse rate from August 20—22 at the Selkirk Lodge with rooms starting at $99 per night."
