STEWARDSHIP -- Come alone, with your family or with a group and join hundreds of people for the fun and satisfaction of sprucing up the river that runs through our city and our lives.

"The Annual Spokane River Clean-Up is a great chance give back for the wonderful recreational opportunities our river corridor provides all year long," organizers say.

Last year, 692 volunteers cleaned up 3.19 tons of garbage and 976 pounds of recyclables from Nine Mile Falls to the Spokane Valley.
Participants can sign up for specific sections of the river.

Registration for this year's event is open at spokanerivercleanup.org.
