FISHING -- Top prize in the 2017 Brewster King Salmon Derby is $2,000 with lots of other cash prizes in adult and youth categories for anglers who reel in whopper kings from the Upper Columbia River. 

The 12th annual event is Aug. 4-5 with a mandatory skippers' meeting Aug. 3.

Ticket sales close July 31.

A new state fishing regulation that went into effect Thursday allows anglers to keep one wild salmon making the total daily limit four chinook, one of which can be unclipped.
