WILDLIFE WATCHING -- Having raised children and puppies, I can't help but be astonished every year at the discipline born in young wild creatures.

Fawns instinctively fold into motionless mats on the ground after feeding and stay put for hours until mother returns.

Coyote pups stick together by their dens without the need for tethers, kennels or Invisible Fences until their parents usher them into the wider wild world.

Spokane photographer Craig Goodwin captured this short video of burrowing owl chicks as orderly as choir girls as they get some fresh air outside their nest den near Moses Lake.
