This is what the Slavin Conservation Area looked like in November, after the grash had grown tall and turned brown heading into winter. Chris Bonsignore, wetlands biologist for Ducks Unlimited, was leading a group through a DU engineered wetlands restoration project on the Slavin Conservation Area, one of more than 20 areas secured by the Spokane County Conservation Futures Program.
