Forest Service closes soft, thawing roads near Sandpoint

PUBLIC LANDS -- The Sandpoint Ranger District has issued temporary closures on several Forest Service roads in Bonner County because of thawing and excessive moisture, according an agency media release.

"The road closure is to prevent damage to soft roadbeds on Butler Creek Road #230 in Cocollala, Grouse Creek Road #280 in the Grouse Creek drainage, and Trout Creek Road #232 in the Trout Creek drainage.

"Residents traveling to their property on these roads are exempt from this closure."
