TRAILS -- By now, everyone in the area should know that the Spokane River is above flood stage and that portions of the Centennial Trail are inundated in the Spokane Valley.

Valley resident Russ Naber points out that erosion is occurring and portions of the trail will be damaged by the time flood waters recede.

"East of Flora approximately 1 mile and up to Barker is flooded and high current will probably loose this to erosion," he said.

If you're concerned, check in with the Friends of the Spokane River Centennial Trail.  In times like this, more friends will be needed to clean up and make repairs to one of  Spokane's most valuable outdoor assets.
