Video: A peek in the Spokane County Courthouse tower

The 1895 Spokane County Courthouse hasn't survived the past century on its own. It takes facilities manager Ron Oscarson and the expertise of many specialists to keep it upright and safe. Photographer Colin Mulvany took a tour of the tower with Oscarson, who talked about what it's like to care for the aging building.  See the video here.

Did you know that the architect of the courthouse, W.A. Ritchie, drew heavily on the chateau of the Loire Valley in France? Specifically, Chambord and the Chateau Azay-le-Rideau.  Here is a Then and Now feature about the courthouse from 2013. Here is Monday's Spokesman-Review story by reporter Kip Hill talking about the work Oscarson has done to stabilize the tower.

Check out the video here.
