S-R Archive find of the day: In this Aug. 14, 1945 photo, these three revelers were part of the crowd, in downtown Spokane, celebrating the end of the war with Japan. Word of the war's end touched of celebrations late in the afternoon and into the night. As many as 50,000 people were estimated to have taken part.
