Three crashes on three roads killed or injured nine people in the Inland Northwest Tuesday.

In one, a Deer Park woman was in satisfactory condition after being extracted from her convertible, which was pinned under a semitrailer during a collision on Interstate 90 on Tuesday afternoon.

Kathleen Schroeder, 49, was driving a Chrysler Sebring in the center lane when a tractor-trailer driven by Martin Gross, 60, pulled in front of her from the outside lane, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Schroeder veered left to avoid striking the tractor-trailer and lost control of her car, which wedged under the semitrailer.

She was taken by ambulance to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center where she was expected to be released Tuesday evening.

Gross was cited for an improper lane change.
