Idaho State Police seize 120 lbs. of pot in I-90 stop
Idaho State Police seized about 120 pounds of marijuana Thursday from a vehicle traveling east on Interstate 90 in Shoshone County.
The driver, Serafin Moreno, 40, was arrested and charged with trafficking marijuana, a felony. Moreno said he lives in Texas.
Scores of shrink-wrapped bags full of marijuana buds were found in duffle bags in the back of the Mazda SUV, which has California license plates, officials said. The drugs have an estimated street value of more than $386,000, the ISP said.
Cpl. Kevin Kessler stopped the vehicle for speeding about 1:30 p.m. near milepost 46. He became suspicious that the driver was attempting to smuggle drugs and obtained Moreno’s consent to search the vehicle.
