Owner, neighbor stop church car thief
Two men stopped a car theft in progress and held the suspect until police arrived, authorities say.
Brandon A. Huffman, 30, is accused of trying to steal the car after finding it parked and running in back of a church at 728 E. Rich Ave. about 6:30 p.m. Friday.
Victim Terry Palmer said he was sitting on the front porch of the church when a neighbor ran up and told him a man was stealing his car
Palmer ran to the car and grabbed the driver's side door but flew off when the thief hit a curb while driving in reverse. Palmer and the neighbor, Jay Gillette, pulled Huffman from the car and held him until officers arrested him.
