The Slice

Timing of the Christmas bonus

My friend Kenyon Fields shared a story.

Years ago, his brother was working for a geology company that seemed to be struggling. The workforce was worried.

But then one day during the holiday season one of the owners arrived and personally handed out Christmas bonuses.

There was a sigh of relief all around.

About four hours later, sweeping layoffs were announced.
