“Citizen’s ar-rest!”

As I have noted, newspaper newsrooms are a lot quieter than they were a few decades ago.

But there's still the police-radio scanner.

Just a moment ago, I thought I heard a dispatcher allude to a "citizen's arrest."

My mind filled with images of Gomer Pyle waving down Barney Fife on Mayberry's main street.

That's probably not what she said. Still, it was fun to picture that happening somewhere in Spokane.
