The Slice

Paul’s People, No. 35

Darryl and I agree that continued strong outings from David Price are crucial.

This is Spokane comedian Darryl Burns.

Working at the newspaper in the facilities maintenance department is his day job. He is a good guy.

Whenever we see one another, we always talk about the same subject. Care to guess?

No, you'll never get it. We talk about the Detroit Tigers. As far as I know, we are the only two Tigers fans at the S-R.

We were more upbeat early in the season than we have been lately.

I told Darryl that the first 34 of "Paul's People" had all been white. I asked him if he was OK with it if one reason he popped onto my radar was the fact that he is not. He said he was fine with that and then we started talking about Justin Verlander's first start of the season coming up this weekend.

Anyone who doesn't accept that can go to blazes.

Go, Tigers!

Go, Darryl!
