My newsroom colleague Mary Beth Donelan is one of my favorite people.

And I don't say that just because her son is one of the best kids ever. I like how she maintains a cheerful workplace demeanor day after day. That might not seem like a huge deal. But try working with someone who is all about daily drama and lurching mood swings and then get back to me.

MB and her husband have been married more than 20 years. I went to her wedding.

I wonder how many people who know her now could tell you her maiden name?
