The Slice

Waiting for his reward

"Fetching the newspaper is my golden retriever Duncan's job," wrote Catherine Short.

He gets a treat for his efforts.

"Early one Sunday morning, he got locked out of the house by mistake and was waiting on the porch to be let it. When the paper was delivered, he returned it to the carrier, expecting to be 'paid.'"

But the carrier didn't understand. So, no treat.

Duncan continued to follow the carrier down the street, retrieving the papers she delivered.

Finally the carrier found someone who knew Duncan and took the dog home.
