The Slice

When software can read your mind

Fleetwood Mac's "Think About Me" was playing in Trader Joe's, and it gave me an idea.

You know how you can set your phone to audibly ping when you receive a text or when someone notes something you have posted on Twitter? Sure. Well, what if you could get a ping when someone thought about you?

Maybe it would be someone you knew in school. Or a person you met at a party one time. The possibilities are endless.

I realize we are quite a few huge leaps away from being able to do that. And there could be a downside to this. No question.

Still, it's intriguing to imagine having that information.

Ping. "Hmmm, that guy I met for coffee once is thinking about me. I wonder what's on his mind."

That, of course, would be the next technological breakhrough.
